Japanese phone networks has given the rise to intense traffic abuse, with the users using the network, not doing much more harm than watching a few pornographic material, especially video streams more than a few times.
Mobile pornography market, has affected the Japanese phone traffic market in such a way, that even using 3G, during the most traffic-loaded time, it will be slow. Japanese mobile market, has become more and more depended on having inbuilt on the go “unlimited” Internet traffic access, instead as in some other countries where they give it by package.
This has also, with the growth of it’s customer base, and the online pornography market, put an strain on the system, making surfing very slow, and companies such as DoCoMo and KDDI believe it to be the more “convenient” use of the portable machine and onanism, that is the blame. In fact, one onanist even have come forth admitting that this is true:
“A mobile is far handier than a computer for Internet access – I seldom use a PC outside the office”
With the high traffic also given raise for the companies to invest more on services and other resources just to keep up with the heavy loads and changes, many top top Japanese phone companies are considering to change the plan back to the old method.
Even though the phone companies are sure Internet pornography is to blame for the new changes, they can’t really do more studies around it, as Japanese privacy law prevents them from digging into users Internet browsing behavior, to see what file they have downloaded or site they have visited.
However, analyst can clearly see that porn market is outgrowing the music industry, and even are convinced it will grow double that size in 2013.
Unfortunate for the Phone companies, many within the porn industry have already taken notice of these changes, and made profit which is still growing strong today, making not only DVD downloadable directly from Internet purchase, but also to mobile phone converted file format.
As expected, this will make give the phone companies no other choice but to change their plans, in fact one telecommunications analyst from Tokai Tokyo Securities Co. said due to the high traffic focused onto pornographic use, will tighten the restriction of their services.
Might sound like a bad thing, but at least it’s good to know that Japan is still growing strong and is healthy.
