Google Removes Loli Site

Google, the dominant power hogging search engine has apparently become self aware of it’s duty towards mankind. Google has decided to act on their own in order to delete the existence (or at least the conscious existence) of a site which contained loli-material, but which they saw as pure child pornography outrage.

The site itself was nothing out of the ordinary. However, their main aim consist of doing scanlations of loli-related hentai manga. Google deleted it’s existence from their database of search index thanks to someone having to report the site as child pornography. They claim it to be of such content and thus reported the site to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Whilst there are different variation of answers regarding the definition of what counts as child pornography, there are at least some who see it as not being part of the artistic view. Sure it’s graphical, but nonetheless “drawings”. This is of course backed up by so far from at least one US definition.

This definition does not apply to depictions that are drawings, cartoons, sculptures, or paintings depicting minors or adults.

But seeing how the questi0n now a days gets rallied as the opposite it might not be so much longer, as even rights to the 2d characters are tried to be brought forth.

The deletion of this site rises concern of how much monopole Google has on the Internet, and whether the US political law and order should affect the rest of the world as clearly in Google decided to act on that behalf and let the rest of the world suffer alongside it. Whilst some can indeed claim it to be their right to remove anything remotely close to loli related content, one must but ask, if they’re aware that is very hard to see the difference between an underage anime/manga character (as they look younger than they’re) and the one of legal age.

Whilst others are showing more of an affection towards publishers, claiming that the material being hosted are violation of publisher copyright, and thus must be aborted as it is indeed piracy.

How ever you may view this, the main issue still is left unresolved. Google who claim to have a “do no evil” policy has most likely just seen it’s first of many to come hypocritical jobs.
