With her already much devoted fans put into a frenzy over rumors of Aya herself giving up on the worlds of seiyuu to pursue a different role in life, even more fuel has been added to the fire with a potential love life, coming from the source itself.
In a recent interview regarding her recently pushy carrier choice, it was revealed that she will encounter a love life in one or more of the tv-dramas she has been scheduled to appear on, making fans question whether their beloved seiyuu is actually going to keep her old carrier or venture off entirely to her new one. Either way, it’s a shocking turn and the otaku community are not ready to embrace any change or fictional chance of a love life for her character.
Although, Aya is very well aware of this, even going as far as to asking for understanding and some length of forgiveness.
“It’s up to you what you think, but don’t hate me!”
However, no amount effort put into an apology for having a character who develops a love interest on air, can ever be forgiven by the dedicated force on the Internet, 2ch:
“‘Don’t hate me’ – she thinks anyone still likes her?”
“So she’ll tell us what positions she likes?”
“A bitch making bitch talk doesn’t change the fact she’s already a bitch.”
“Fans who stop liking her because of this weren’t real fans to start with!”
“Don’t dump us!”
“She can say whatever she likes, if she does it in Konata’s voice all will be forgiven.”
“I hope she’s prepared for the reaction of all those creepy otaku…”
“There’s no way any creepy otaku would forgive an idol who had a boyfriend for even a second.”
