Tokyo International Anime Fair has already announced their winners of Anime of the Year, and amongst those winners we see newcomers as well as old comers, filling up a range of different genres and taking home the title of being the best amongst the best!
Summer Wars (Animation of the Year Award)
2009 brought a range of good Anime titles, which is praised to be a bit better than the rest. One of these are Summer Wars, which really haven’t had much attention as let’s say K-On! None the less, it has still been awarded for being Animation of the Year, and anyone who have seen this movie will agree nonetheless that it’s perhaps one of the unique Anime’s of late 2009.

Wall-E (Foreign Excellence Award)
Evangelion 2.0 (Music Award)
The list continues from here on with most of the awards going to the staff of Summer Wars, as well as one character design award going to Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Seiyuu award going to Hiroshi Kamiya whom voiced Araragi in Bakemonogatari.
All of these mentioned above (apart from Wall-E), are recommended to watch for a loyal Anime follower.
